Ballsy

I’ve been messing around with the new Cinema 4D R11.5. Thanks to Nick over at GreyScaleGorilla for the tutorial on dynamics.

Oh Snap

Oh Snap
Some people say things like “wow!” or “no way!” or “awesome!”, but I personally like saying “oh snap!”. What’s your favorite expression?

Haircut

You Need a Haircut
I took my sketchbook’s advice and finally got a haircut today. Woohoo!

Gimme the loot

Bank Dattaway

Financial freedom is one of my goals for the summer, and by that I mean getting rid of all my debts. Mind you, I don’t have much but there’s enough to make me uneasy. I was a mere $200 from paying off my credit cards and then I had to pay for a root canal and a filling which put me back another few hundred bucks.

I’m also slowly paying back a hospital bill for my minor shoulder injury a few months back. MRIs are not cheap, so avoid any muscular damage at all costs. In fact, if you’re going to spend any kind of money consider investing in a large bubble to live in. That way you’ll avoid most injuries and you’ll be the most popular kid on the block. Oh, and you can race hamsters who roam in plastic bubbles and brag that you beat that guy fair and square.

I like to think that once I’m done paying off that credit card I’ll shred it to tiny specs and then never put anything on credit ever again. And then when I’m all grown up and ready to buy a new house or car I’ll be able to pay with a suitcase full of money attached to some bodyguard’s wrist. Strangers like that sort of thing.

Typographical experimenting, like poker, is an enjoyable activity for the whole family. Your turn to shuffle.

Ready to Depart

It’s the last week of school and I approach it with anticipation. Sure, I have quite a bit of work to produce for these last days, but I’m confident I’ll get things done on time. Most importantly, as the illustration above alludes to, I’ll be flying out at the end of the week for a total of 10 days. First to Chicago, then to Baltimore, then back home. This trip will complete my traveling goal for the year: 4 places outside of Florida and my goal to visit Nat. I’m truly excited about this mini-adventure of mine.

If anybody is interested in tagging along on this trip, let me know. I’ll shoot you the specifics. I’ll be leaving Friday, the 7th and returning Sunday, the 16th. And yes, I’ll be taking plenty of pictures.

What are your plans for the winter break?

Feelin’ Patriotic

Can’t sleep. I had a sudden urge to create some art. I think I’ve finally figured out where I want to take my body of work. I want to produce positive propaganda. I want my work to filter the words of great thinkers and leaders through the use of typography in my particular sketchy style. It’s an opportunity for me to contribute to the Great Conversation with a raw artistic approach.

I think the political climate is such right now that my work could speak to millions if I just put it out there. Right now it’s important for me to share these ideas with my community, namely my school and my peers. I figure if there’s ever been a good place to express ideas, it’s in the university setting. Well, I’m here and I’m going to make the most of it. Let’s have a conversation, and if we can’t have a conversation let’s have an argument.

Who says school has to be boring?
