Sketched Commercial

Boy, I really need to start animating. I love everything about this animated commercial for V Water. I’ll be whistling that tune all day. Enjoy!

Street Type

I’m trying to get in the habit of taking more photos lately, specifically of typography. So here’s what I’ve found this week so far.

Archangels are quite zealous of their Ts and Ls.

Apparently one smoking tailgater disagreed.

Well ok, since you asked so nicely.

Ninjas Are So Sneaky

I really wish I could have gone to the annual Ninja Parade this year. Guess I’ll have to schedule my life better for next year. Here’s some news coverage on the event. Who wants to go next year?

Ninja Parade Slips Through Town Unnoticed Once Again

Happy Veteran’s Day

A friend of mine asked me today, “Ron Paul? Are you serious?”

My response to that friend is… yep and yeah.

I hope this video helps explain why. This interview with Ron Paul aired this morning on CBS.

Late Weekend

Like Nat, I’m at the office late tonight working on a project. I’m peacefully listening to Sufjan Stevens’ Songs for Christmas album with my headphones on. I’ll most likely spend the whole weekend here working on this class project. The assignment, in a nutshell, is to design a clothing line. Logo, name, tags, shoe box, messenger bag, shopping bag, accessory, signage, etc. Gotta print and make some mock-ups before I do the final constructing. It’s a good project so far.

In case you’re wondering about the sketches above, I did those today while waiting for someone to get off my computer. The $29.45 price tag was for the 2 pizzas we ordered. “So Ehslow” is a Spanish-accented reference that my friends and I use when we talk to each other. We’re ehsilly like that.

Back to work!

Why I’m Voting for Ron Paul

Danielson

Danielson Famile

I just finished watching the Danielson Movie. I’d heard about them for a while without really ever investigating them. So I watched the dvd and came out of it feeling quite inspired and eager to listen to their albums. I’m also impressed at their genuine faith and how open they are in sharing that through their art and with the people they meet. These are my kind of people.

One important figure in the documentary is none other than Sufjan Stevens, a close friend of the Danielson Famile, who filled in on practically all the band roles at some point throughout their touring. The documentary highlights how he eventually became a musical star. I’ve been a fan from the moment I heard him pluck at the banjo, so being able to see him interact with the rest of the band was absolutely great.

And so with all this inspiration I did 3 things. I updated my Goals page with a short list of people I’d like to meet, I purchased the Danielson Ships album, and I bought Sufjan’s Seven Swans album. Hooray for new music!

Here’s one of Danielson’s latest music videos, Did I Step On Your Trumpet?
