Hey Guys,
I wanted to let everyone know that I, David Uribe, will be participating in a 24-hour blogging event this Saturday. I will be doing this in order to raise money for ECHO (Educational Concern for Hunger Organization). Make sure to check out their website at the end of this post. They’re doing some amazing work to stop hunger in under-developed countries through the distribution and education of agricultural means.
Here’s an incentive for ya. Everyone who pledges over $10 total will receive a personalized sketch from me. My theme for the Blogathon will be “cartoons”. I’ll be creating hand drawn cartoons of people that I know and love. If you want me to draw someone that you know, email me a picture of them and I’ll definitely draw them for you and post it on the site as well.
So here’s how this event works. If you’re interested in sponsoring me, all you have to do is email me back and tell me how much you’re going to pledge. You can do that in one of two ways:
1) Tell me a flat amount you will donate to ECHO.
or…
2) Tell me an amount you will pay for every hour I stay up on Blogathon Day. I will attempt to stay up a full 24 hours (6AM – 6AM), while writing entries every half hour. So if you pledge $1/hour and I manage to stay up 24 hours you will have pledged $24. If you pledge $2/hour, it’s $48. This puts the pressure on me to stay awake. (This option is a lot more fun)
It’s that simple.
You don’t have to give me your credit card or cash or any of that. What I’ll do is jot down your name, phone number, and email address, and send you a reminder after the Blogathon is complete to go to the ECHO site and donate the amount you pledged via their secure online donation form.
So if you’re interested make sure to email the following info to me:
1. First & Last name.
2. Email address & Phone number
3. Pledge Amount.
4. One person you would like me to make a cartoon of. (Self? Brother? Wife? Cousin?) You can email me their photo afterward if you don’t have it ready today.
Thank you in advance for your help. I hope that by my efforts and your support we can help ECHO in their mission to stop hunger in poor countries.
