A Fun Party Game

I find myself getting invited to many social gatherings these days. It seems that a bunch of my friends have birthdays in the beginning of the year. So alas, being the outgoing person I am it is my duty to entertain the audience. I guess it goes back to my stand-up days, (has it been three years already?). Behold, the Egg Relay:

Ingredients:

  1. Five to six eggs.

  2. A rag to blindfold someone.

  3. One unsuspecting volunteer, (In this case, the birthday boy).

  4. Fifteen feet of walking room.

  5. An audience.

The point of this game is to make the unsuspecting volunteer believe he/she is going to walk through an obstacle course of eggs. Place the eggs on the floor in different spots as the volunteer watches. Have someone blindfold the volunteer and as soon as the volunteer seems securely blindfolded have someone remove the eggs from the floor and put them away. Tell the audience that they need to help the volunteer get from one side of the obstacle course to the other by shouting out directions. They will catch onto the gag the moment you take the eggs off the floor. Next, spin the volunteer 5 times to disorient him/her for added effect. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the volunteer attempting to walk carefully through an imaginary course of eggs. Here’s a 4 minute version of Angel’s birthday party I attended this weekend. The reason I’m dressed up as a b-boy is because it was an Eighties theme. Don’t hate.

I realize that the video is kind of dark, but if you turn off all the lights in your room and squint real hard, you’ll get the picture. Enjoy! (Props to Kristel for shooting it and to Angel for being such a good sport. And by good sport I mean perfect victim.)
