Now that school is almost out, I’ve already begun to plan out what I’ll be doing for the remaining days of December before the next semester starts up again. After very little thought and planning, I’ve decided to head up to New York with some friends. I’ll be heading up to Queens, NY with travelmates Kristel and Angel. It’s going to be fun times for an entire weekend. We leave on the 15th and return on the 19th. I’ve been in desperate need of a vacation since school started up again. There were plenty of restless nights putting color comps together and mounting pieces. That’s all over now. I’ve officially completed the first two years of New World and I am now a University of Florida student, though I still take my classes here at the campus. But let’s not talk about school, shall we?
This trip is going to rock our faces off, and freeze them off as well. I’m hoping there will continue to be snow by this time next week when we head out. Being a Miami child I have been deprived of the blessing of snow. I get plenty of sand though, oh and smog. That’s not even close.
I have compiled a list of possible destinations for the trip. All of which are affordable for 3 college students:
- FAO Shwartz
- Rockefeller Center
- Museum of Natural History
- MOMA (Free on Friday!)
- Radio City Music Hall – Christmas Spectacular
- Love Saves The Day (vintage stuff store)
- Coney Island
- Manhattan Mall (34th Street)
- St. Marks square – cheap, trendy clothing
- Barnes and Noble – 66th & Broadway
- Central Park, The Great Lawn
- Union Square
- Chinatown
And then there’s the food. Don’t even get me started on the food.
- Roasted Peanuts ANYWHERE
- Hot Dog stands
- Gray’s Papaya (awesome hotdogs)
- H&H Bagel
- Pizza (102nd Street & Broadway)
- Belgian French Fries
- MELAWAH - Mott Street in Chinatown
If you have any other recommendations let me know. I’ve got a whole week to prepare. Today’s goal: buy some longjohns. Woohoo!

Oh it’s a beautiful thing…excitement is reaching a peak.
I have FIVE finals next week.
One on Monday. Two on Tuesday. One on Wednesday. And one on Thursday.
Goshhhh… I think I’ve earned this NY trip!
