My car was giving me problems today. The spark plugs were apparently eroded and so my engine would do an abrupt shake every few seconds. When I popped the hood I noticed the sparks from the spark plug were coming out and the little electrical current made the engine jerk around. Strange.
I was forced to miss class and instead went down to my old stomping grounds in Carol City to see my mechanic Gilbert, an authentic grease monkey who keeps busy everyday taking orders on his mile-long cord phone and attending to poor saps like me who don’t know the first thing about cars. He’s the type of mechanic you want. He told me what I needed and where to get it, then Dad took over from there and fixed the car up. I hope.
I can’t afford to miss class again, seeing how my projects are due in a few days and then I have the spring retreat coming up. I’ve been good about attending all my classes this semester, with the exception of one day and today. I’ve only got two more excused absences and then I’m all out. Good thing my classes finish in about 2 weeks. Ahh I can smell the freedom of summer already.
Smells like the gym and plenty of books. Yum.

Actually, the spark comes from the spark plug wires. The spark originates in the spark coil, passes down the wire to the plug. So if you saw sparks, it had to have come from the source – the wire attached to the coil, not from the plug, which is downstream of the wire and coil.
The spark plug is screwed into the engine block and not likely to come loose. It is easier for the wire to come off the plug than for the plug to come loose while still attached to the wire.
The jerking was due to the imbalance caused by some of the spark plugs firing and some not firing. The spark plugs are fired in a specific order that minimizes the vibration. If that order is disrupted, you get shaking.
Details, details.
“. ..that’ll be 200 dollars, sir.”
;]
Fortunately it was much cheaper than that. That’s a sigh of relief.
Hey david…. glad to see that you’re car is fixed! hey I was checking out the cornerstone site, and is one ticket good for both nights?
Just thought I would let ya know.
Oh yea, and the cost for the hotels nearby don’t seem that expensive compared to the camping grounds, even though it would be fun to stay outside in hot humid, saharan desert
see ya laters

...it would be fun to stay in THE hot, humid Saharan desert.
Sorry, I had to re-write it, it was bothering me…
