For Christmas I did a series of 6”x6” portrait paintings for some of my friends. Each piece was done with watercolor, guache, and ink. It was a new style for me to work in and I had lots of fun doing them. If you wanna look at them, feel free to check out my new photography section. I’ll probably start adding all my photos in this section so you can see them and add comments if you like. Mind you, this photogallery has a different feel then my regular sketchism page, but it was the best template I could find. Enjoy!

Welcome to Sketchism: The art and words of David Uribe.
Take a look around and leave a nice comment if you find something you like. Thanks!

hey there david ( i typed dave just cause i’ve heard it alot, but to me it’s not the guy i know so i’m stickin’ to david)
i took a look at your photography section. true, it’s not your regular style but i guess it’s doing for now… the black and white pictures were really nice. file 6 in that section got me thinking, just seeing the comparison you captured between the baby and the man, both sleeping reminded me about that “faith like a child” we should have… i don’t know if you meant to point out those two specific people but that’s what i saw… just wanted to spill the ink… i won’t write “lol” -know you don’t like it (see david’s comedy sketch @ west kendall)
bye bye for now
God Bless
“They say that love can heal the broken
They say that hope can make you see
They say that faith can find a savior
If you would follow and believe
With faith like a child
They say that I can move the mountains
And send them falling to the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe
With faith like a child”
Hey Vicki,
Thanks for the compliments. Those black and white photos were probably taken at different times. In my DASH days I always carried my camera and sketchbook around on the metrorail and captured people talking or sleeping or whatever they were doing that caught my attention. I didn’t intend for a direct biblical reference but if the pictures remind you of that idea then praise the Lord. May He always be glorified in our own creations.
im back in town. I shall call you.
yo, those portraits are awesome! what’s even better are the little captions that go with them; i enjoyed those just as much. i’m loving whatever it is you’re doing to get those illustrations looking the way they do! keep it coming!
