Roper!

So everything has been pretty static lately, not much exciting news to share. I’ve been watching movies like crazy though since the Hurricane Jeanne came at us. Here’s a list of the movies I’ve seen this week compiled into one sentence for you.

The Missing Shaun of the Dead Super Sized Me To Kill a Mockingbird.

Well that was fun. I suppose everything seems fun to me since I have something fun to look forward to in the next 8 hours. That’s right folks, I’ll be at the Roper concert tonite, skanking and moshing with other punk-crazy fans. I admit this will be my first formal mosh pitting experience outside of youth group, so this will be a new experience for me. I’m excited to meet Reese, the lead singer because his music and attitude has influenced how I view the role of an entertainer. If I get the opportunity tonight, I’ll participate in a series of stupid camera poses with him and the other band members. All my energy from my Five Iron Frenzy days (that was like a week ago) is going with me to this concert. I am stoked like I haven’t been stoked in a long time.

Yes I will have pictures. Yes I will post them. Yes I am hungry now.

Oh by the way, rent Super Size Me. It’s very McAwesome.

The Return of Hurricane Jeanne

Looks like we’ll be preparing our hurricane shutters yet again today. I honestly don’t know how Jeanne is coming at us this time. It totally missed us about a week ago, as it was heading northeast from Florida. Then all of a sudden I hear she’s coming back at us with a vengeance. Tragedy.

A Quick Heads Up

Due to the recent changes in my host’s management, I had to update the DNS information for Sketchism. You may find that my site isn’t working in 48 hours, but that’s because the proper information is being transferred. I think the guys who owned the company just a few days ago bailed out on all their clients and went running off with the money. It’s pretty scary that it hit so close to me. Fortunately I didn’t give them my credit card information as they had been suspiciously requesting just before they left. What basically led me to believe that something wasn’t right was their lack of explanation for the recent changes. Plus the Terms of Service page, which I was asked to agree to, wasn’t even working. Sorry guys, when it comes to legally binding documents such as Service Agreements, you’d better be sure I’ll be reading the fine print. Getting my college scholarship to go through was hard enough, there’s no way I’m letting some company run off with my money. Evil people out there, folks. Keep an eye out.

All Coca Cola’d Up

Blech, I think I’m going to barf. My diet lately has been the worst, partly because I feel like I make up for it by excercising all the time (i.e. skating). I’ve been drinking way too much soda, eating too much fast-food, and snacking on too many sweets. I think I got a new cavity to join the family. Sigh…

On a good note, my skating has improved much. I can ollie up a level now, and in fact I managed to ollie over Rufio’s board yesterday. Sick stuff I tell ya. There’s something so exciting about seeing your efforts finally pull through. I had been going daily to the park to work on my skating and ollying for the past month, and finally I can do it with ease.

School has been okay so far. My graphic design class is cool, there are only 4 students in it. Needless to say we get all of our concerns addressed. I like the fact that we’re working with a lot of print material. Everything I’m used to doing at Thirdeye is computer/broadcast based, which is another world of fun too. Things have been pretty busy at the office lately, as we are taking care of multiple projects at a time and I’m starting to see new faces appearing everyweek as the freelancers come in. One particular person we hired for a bit really let us down though, on a weekly basis even. It’s disappointing to see that even people in the profession can still be immature about doing serious projects, missing deadlines and then offering lame excuses. A real shocker when so much is at stake: business, money, and of course the reputation of the employers. I hope I’m never guilty of that in the future.

Well with that in mind I’d better do some hw before I fall asleep again. Weekends are great for naps, ya know.

Missed you guys!

Sorry for the delay in writing. Something seems to have gone awry at my hosting company’s facility. Their website was down the whole weekend, therefor mine was because I’m sure we’re on the same server. I feel bad for any ecompany on the same server, they must’ve suffered some serious financial losses during the time period. Alls I lost was time for posting about my vain activities. Hehe.

Let’s see, what’d you miss…

I guess nothing. Well that was worth the wait, wasn’t it!

Hurricane is Over

Well now that the bad weather has passed it’s time to get down to business. I spent the last 4 days imprisoned in my home watching movies, eating cereal, drinking soda, playing computer games, chatting on instant messenger, and most importantly avoiding homework. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to doing homework. It’s so… inconvenient. One useful thing I did this extra long weekend was organize my room and papers and put my receipts in order. I like to keep track of the paper trail I make. For those of you who were fortunate enough not to be in South Florida during hurricane Frances, you may not know that the hurricane took a day longer than expected to fully impact us. From the looks of my neighborhood it doesn’t look like there was much impact in my area. A few trees were down, but nothing serious. We don’t have powerlines in this complex, so that was great. At some point during the forecasted hurricane attack my brother and father and I decided to roam the neighborhood on bikes and skateboard to see what kind of damage was made. Like I said, only a few trees at the time. The winds were nice against my back as I skated down the street, holding onto my brother’s shirt. No pictures, sorry.

Well I’d better start being productive now. I’ve got about 3 assignments I need to get started on for Wednesday. You know you’re a procrastinator when you’re locked indoors for 4 straight days during a hurricane and still avoid doing your assignments. It’s sad really.
