It’s been a good 4 days since I returned from Summer Camp 2004 at Ft. Myers Beach. Each time we head out as a group it gets better and better. There are so many things that happened that I find myself getting anxious to explain. However, I don’t have the energy to give you all the details. If you were there, you had a good time. Lives were changed, decisions were made, crooked paths were made straight, jet skis were flying, skin was frying, volleyball was exciting, and trips to 7-11 made each day seem a bit sweeter as we sipped on our slurpees.
Some of the memorable moments include making my friends fall off the banana boat, everyone asking to borrow the aloe vera creme when we got back from the beach each day, people telling me I looked like a racoon with that tanline around my face from my shades, hearing little Alison tell me she loves me 35 times a day, sharing a bunk with 10 other guys and having our devotional every night before bed despite our tired bodies, playing the ever controversial “cup game”, hearing testimonies that shattered my pride and made me look up to God once again, and of course the hilarious video scavenger hunt (which my team won by two minutes).
The trip was worth every penny and every sacrifice it took to prepare for it. I hope we can continue to prepare other camps and retreats so that others may know what it is to experience fellowship with brothers, sisters, and God, face to face. If you went to camp, please comment on what you liked the most about the trip.
Pictures when I get home.

I must admit, I had second thoughts of going and was very nervous by the social environment that I was about to go on. I admit also that there was adjustment especially adapting to the bathing suit issues however I had alot of fun and grew alot in terms of being in the Lord and socializing. Athought I still have difficulties in talking to a certain person but Im content that I improved in socializing with the others. I guess I realize I can be humorous at times instead of being dark and silent as I used to be. I got the hotel room with Mack, Ovi, and Raul and grew close to them as well. I thank God for putting me to this experience as I let go of my pride and particapte with those whom I called my brothers and sister. I thank you and everyone else who have lefted me up. God Bless you and Amen.

Comments about camp 2004.. it might take a while, this years camp was an experence that one would never forget.. It was just great to see people go and go for God, to want to learn more about him and his love for us.. especailly in the younger kids. when i was young i wished i had a youth group like ours. everyone that loves each other and loves God more then anything else. the experence of being with God one on one without the distractions of daily life was great.. just growing closer to the Lord. every night one of my bestfriends would give the message. Rey the things your doing for God inspire me thanks for everything. im glad that we’re friends..
We grew close riding jet skis, banana boats and para sailing. it brought you closer to every one. mostly because you had you hold on to them for dear life or swallow a gallon of water. I was bunked with the middle school boys. it was fun i got to mess around and act a fool. but it was great to see little kids after the things of God.
On the last night i bunked with the high school boys; it was a lot of fun.. i just wish i could have spent more time with you guys.. Camp was good to us because we all camp back with 80 more family members. it’ll be sad not to get to see all ur morning faces. but hey theres always spring retreat..
-love you all. God bless
love you melky!
sup david
