Last Week of School

Been doing quite a bit of studying lately. I have a final essay to do and some graphics work I need to print out for juries. Boy, school really finds a way to use up your time and money. I don’t know how people make it through college. I keep seeing these commercials where people say “College wasn’t for me, I joined (fill in the blank) and found it was better suited for me.”
It’s not that I dislike the content we cover, it’s just that I really really dislike the essay writing and grades. What a pain in the neck.

Well I’m off to do some more schoolwork. After Friday I’m a free man again!

Until May 10th.

Stick it out. I have several regrets from college but the main one concerning actual classes was not giving more. When it comes time to graduate the companies that are recruiting have two things to look at besides your major – GPA and experience.
The best offers go to the folks that have the best in both areas. Once you get outside the creame of the crop jobs personality seems to play a bit more into it, but the primo ones won’t even consider you without primo in both areas. There are folks that spent just as much time as me sitting in class that came out of school making twice as much as me… which means the time they spend away from home, sitting at a desk like me pays them twice as much. The payoff is worth the 4 years of hard work.

Whew that’s good to hear. Thanks for the encouragement. I guess one of the things that motivates me to keep going is the fact that I made a list of goals 2 years ago, of which included this goal : Get an associates degree.

It’s a small degree, I understand, but it’s a goal nonetheless. I’ll decide whether to pursue a BFA afterwards, in which case I’ll probably have to come back and read your comment once again. I’m also considering getting a MA in seminary, which means I’d better get used to doing all this work. Thanks again, Chuck.

Yo D, just wanted to mention that your newish look kicks some serious tail. That portrait screams angsty-coolness and sketchy wonder. I’m happy because of it.
