Thirdeye’s office has the nicest wooden floor I’ve ever had the pleasure of walking on. So naturally I did the logical thing when I began working here last week, I brought my Razor Scooter. At first, the bosses were a little hesitant to let me ride it. It might damage the floor, might leave marks, etc. Didn’t want to disappoint them in my first week as a thirdeye employee again, so I just set it on the floor near my bookbag. Halfway through the day Manny passes by and picks up the scooter.
“How do you open this thing?” he asks.
“Just pull the little latch there and it opens up,” I replied.
“Ah,” he said as he prepared the it for flight. He placed it on the floor and skated away, feeling the smooth surface of the floor as he went around the office.”Hey this is pretty fun,” he exclaimed.
Now I can’t get him off the the thing. Any task in the office requires riding the scooter. Brainstorming, group meetings, going to the next computer, even lunch. When something is rendering, you’ll find a designer roaming around the spacious office, usually with one leg behind him in the air as he accelerates himself in the direction of anywhere. Clients don’t seem to mind us riding it as we talk to them. I think they secretly await their turn. Man, I love this place.
