Return of the camera

I’ve been a little hesitant and lazy when it comes to pictures lately. I love taking pictures, but the thought of managing them and uploading and renaming and describing them sometimes just shivers me timbers. Well those days are soon to be over. Today I picked up my digital cam from it’s dust infested shelf and began clicking away as the day went on. It’s good to be in the groove again. Unfortunately I’m going to be doing stuff today, so I won’t be uploading them and whatnot til later tonight or tomorrow.

Which reminds me, tomorrow I’m expected to do another comedy act. I don’t have a solid set yet. Maybe I’ll read a poem or something. I’ve just been so busy this week it’s been tough to think of good material, and I haven’t found a good resource for other stand-up jokes. ::sigh:: At least I took my nap today.

Too bad you took a nap. You could have taken a pillow onstage and napped there a la Andy Kaufman. How about impressions and literature? An Amish man reading a Chilton repair manual? Bill Clinton reading the Home Depot plumbing inventory? Barry White reading a Victorian romance novel? I don’t know. Just trying to help the team out any way I can. Break a leg.

I wish I knew how to do any one of those impressions. I’d better start doing some hardcore research on comedy and celebrity personalities. I like the odd combinations thing. Sounds cool. Thanks.

When Bob Hope died, it was reported that he had scribbled thousands and thousands of his jokes on napkins, business cards and any other scrap of paper he had. Much like your sketch book, you need to carry a little pad of paper to jot down those jokes that fly through your head and are gone a second later unless you write it down. Like the old Chinese proverb, “The weakest ink is mightier than the strongest memory.”

I don’t understand how your camera ever ended up on the dust infested shelf. From the minute I bought my digital camera, I’ve been taking pics every day. Of course, it is annoying as pie to upload/rename/resize. It’s worth it, though.

I’ve had the camera for about 2 years now, and I spent the whole first year taking pictures of practically everything, which was fun. But since I’ve started a lot of new things lately it’s has just seemed like a drag to carry the cam in my pocket or bag. Pure laziness. But I’m getting off of that now.
