Got to work today and there was finally something for me to work on. I realized how much I enjoy doing web stuff, seeing how nobody else in the office knows how to do it. I’m the ‘web guy’. Had a brief meeting with a client which means I’m going to have to basically redo the website from scratch. No complaints from here, it was a learning experience. Tasks are easier for me now that I had to repeat them over and over. I should be done with the site before school starts, which is a week from today. Orientation is on Sunday, from 10 til 3, which is a major bummer. I don’t like missing church for anything less than another churchy thing. Why couldn’t they have made the orientation for Saturday? Grrr.
On another note, today I received an email from my pal David, linking me to The Free Agent Path. I was a little suspicious at first, so I emailed him in return to make sure it was from initially from him and it was. The founder Mark Joyner is a credible source for this stuff, seeing how he’s this multi-millionaire who is giving away his trade secrets and David has invested plenty of time and money on the self-marketing program by Joyner. Things seem to be running smoothly. Check out the site if you’re interested in being healthier, wiser, and a little wealthier. Seems a little cheesy at first, I admit, but as it goes on I find myself being more interested. Let me know if you’re interested so I can be your sponsor. (Doesn’t cost either of us a dime)
Time to make some phone calls! Oh, and Brandon has an interesting essay.
I find it very difficult to wake up nowadays. My alarm used to wake me when I was going to high school a few weeks ago, but now my body seems to automatically dismiss the sound of the radio blaring against my ear. It turns on, plays music for an hour, and turns off. Yet there I am, still lying on the bed in a state of REM. I hope things improve, now that college is right around the corner. Turns out I have to be at school by 8 in the morn. ::sigh::
Leave me alone, school.
I’ve got to start getting in shape, mentally and physically. No more of this nonsense. My goal is to minimize my computer leisure time and increase my reading time, as well as working out 2 times a week and continuing the martial arts 3 times a week. There should be results in at least 6 weeks.
Right now I’m going to clean my room, get some Bible reading done and maybe some Aristotle thrown in there too.
Don’t even know where to begin. Got back in town today at around 12:30 with a smile on my face and a small sunburn on my shoulders. The days passed by so fast due to all the activities we were involved in. It’s was just like I had imagined. I got to know so many new people and solidify my relationships with those who I had known. And most importantly I was able to set things right between me and the Lord. I tell ya, I can see Him working through the people around me. What a blessing!
One of the interesting things that happened at the trip was that Pastor Rob set me aside and told me he was really impressed with the impact I’m having on the church. He is very much willing to give me an internship position at the church. It’s really gotten me to think about my future. I know I want to have a ministry somehow, yet I would like to be able to use the talents I have been given in the process. Many doors have been opened, and I have faith that God will place me in a position where I can most effectively share the gospel.
My friend Jessica and my cousin Stephanie accompanied me on the camp trip and they seemed to have had a great time as well. There’s nothing greater in life than seeing people enjoy the same thing you do, especially when you know that through that path there is nothing but benefit. We held hands, we hugged, we spoke to each other, we laughed, we cried. I’m still smiling from the whole experience. What a blessing indeed. Pictures are coming very very soon.
I suppose I should wait ‘til the site is totally complete before I start posting, but does any body really care? I’ve spent enough time and money on this little setup to start writing whatever I want.
Tomorrow morning I head out on the retreat and I’m super excited. I’ve been waiting for this retreat since April when we had our Spring retreat. Mind you it was the first time I met any group of people my age with such an enthusiasm to seek the Mind of Christ. It’s good to know I’m not alone on this long and narrow path. I’m to expect campfires, discussions, games, jet skis, parasailing, and who knows what else. Heredes and the crew have spent a major amount of time in planning and preparation for this event. What a great group. I haven’t finished packing my stuff yet, silly me. Procrastination always finds some way to creep back into my life with arms wide open. I’ll be back on Saturday hopefully without any sunburns or scars. It’s going to be great. Expect pictures.
After posting this, I should receive an email informing me of a new post
