Saturday Night Indigestion

Had a good time yesterday. After martial arts in the afternoon I returned home to find my cousin Enrique at my home. He only has the opportunity to visit us from Orlando maybe every two months or so because of school, so it was fun hanging out with him, Tony, Jess, and Rey. We went to Catalyst, (the hip-hop hang out at the church nearby), then to Laser Quest where we played 2 fifteen-minute sessions of FFA. I won the first game, but the second game had this one player who was extremely good. Turns out the guy works there. :::raspberries::: After that we went to Dennys for some breakfast/dinner/milkshake meal and then we headed home. I woke up this morning still feeling that food turning in my stomach. I hope not to barf on anyone today.

This Wednesday I have my first project due and I have yet to begin the assignment. I’ll have to devote all of Monday to doing it. Excuse me as I kick myself.

Ouch

Fell off my scooter today. Extreme pain. Tomorrow’s moving should be very interesting.

WARPd out

Began classes today and now I’m sure I’m up for an intensive workload this semester. My first class, Workshop for Art Research and Practice (WARP), demands my immediate attention as I have a 3D project due a week from today. Never done anything in 3d as far as I can remember, so this may give me an opportunity to learn from trial and error. Bummer. Tomorrow I have 2D design, drawing, and math class. This should be stimulating. I do hope time flies when you’re extra busy.

Classroom wishes and Hackysac dreams

Today has to be the longest day in the history of time. The seconds felt like hours as I rode that bus from Carol City to Downtown. Once I got there, I had to walk a few blocks to get to the school and of course I got lost. Took me a minute to realise I was heading in the wrong direction. Finally found the building, went upstairs and entered the room right at the announced time, 9:00am. I’m so punctual it’s scary. All the students were in the air-conditioned room, sitting around and mumbling. It was time to break the ice. Pulled the hacky sac from my book bag and in a few seconds had a circle of about 6 guys kicking that little beanie all over the place. A few minutes later the tour guides (A Visual Arts sophomore and a senior) came in and told us to follow them.

The tour of our campus was a little rushed and unpleasant due to our local weather: humidity from the pits of hell. But we made the best of it by talking to each other and getting acquainted. We returned to the building and officially introduced ourselves to our fellow artists by saying our names out loud and such and eventually the hour passed.

Lunch was provided for us outside in the scorching heat and then we played hacky sac some more. We returned to the building, and registered for our classes and then hacky sac again. I love that little ball. Went back to the room, listened to the dean talk to us for a million years and I had to leave in the middle of it so I could catch the bus home. Missed the first bus home, caught the next one 25 minutes later, got to my car an hour later, drove home, ate quickly, went to martial arts class (injured my lower back some more), and now I’m here dreaming about the next hacky sac game, which will most likely be on Wednesday when school finally starts. Goodnite.

Sighh

Anyone who know’s me would grant that I am a die-hard movie fan. (I’m not talking about the movie Die Hard, just so ya know.) Somehow, through a series of miscalculations and miscommunication I ended up in the audience of the movie My Boss’ Daughter (which by the way has an extra s at the end of the word Boss’s. That’s Hollywood for ya.) I think this is the second movie I’ve ever had to walk out of. It’s supposed to be a romantic comedy.

1. Not romantic
2. Not comical

I would have had a more enjoyable experience watching paint dry.
In conclusion, don’t watch that film.

Not Quite in Bed

I’m still awake. I should be asleep. Is this some form of teenage rebellion towards my parents? Have I got a beef with the world? (mmm… beef) Am I so convicted with the present current events that I dare not close my eyes for fear of missing one dying second of neat stuff? Perhaps I am seeking a bit of divine activity. Or I seek a still small voice to guide me. Or maybe it’s the combination of all that cheese and ginger bread I had at Max’s. Ehh… all this thinking is making me tired. Goodnite, all.

Someone else’s clothes

Strolled back into work a few minutes ago after a long night of fun. Youth group was a blast, as we had new kids come in and enjoy themselves with our music and skits. Poor Kenny got his hair cut brutally thanks to Heredes. Speaking of Hair-idous, thanks for letting me borrow the shirt and socks, man. The sleepover was a last minute thing that worked out for the best. Had a good conversation with Pastor Rob about my involvement with the church in the not too distant future. Some of us college guys are going to be meeting up soon to start our own group too. It’s good that we have a whole bunch of support systems forming. Gotta keep accountable for each other.

Don’t know if I’ll make it to Max’s tonight. Maybe an opportunity will open up for me to hang out with my brother. Update: Friday discussions will soon focus on philosophy and the great books. I’m stoked!
Time to get started on the website.
